Isaiah 40:6-8

 A voice says, "Cry out."
   And I said, "What shall I cry?"

 "All men are like grass,
   and all their glory is like the flowers of the field.
 The grass withers and the flowers fall,
   because the breath of the LORD blows on them.
   Surely the people are grass.
 The grass withers and the flowers fall,
   but the word of our God stands forever."

James 1:17-21

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like sifting shadows. He chose to give us birth through the word of truth, that we might be a kind of firstfruits of all he created. My dear brothers, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry, for man's anger does not bring about the righteous life that God desires. Therefore, get rid of all moral filth and the evil that is so prevalent and humbly accept the word planted in you, which can save you.
