David's Waffles Knit Dishcloth Pattern

I wrote this pattern on the MAX while heading downtown to meet my friend David for breakfast. Unlike other patterns I've tried designing, this was actually successful.

Lily Sugar'n Cream [100% Cotton; 70.9 gram ball]; 28: Delft Blue; 1 ball

Recommended needle size:
2 US #8/5.0mm

18 sts/26 rows = 4 inches in pattern

Cast On 44 stitches.
Row 1: K44
Row 2: P44
Row 3: K44

Middle
Row 1: K2 P2 | P4 K4 P4 K4 P4 K4 P4 K4 P4 | P2 K2
Row 2: K2 K2 | K4 P4 K4 P4 K4 P4 K4 P4 K4 | K2 K2

I'd like to change the pattern a bit so that the corners match. I'll publish rev2 of the pattern when I have a chance to actually test it.
